Building an archive and honoring our space is a big part of our work. Discussing this project with local Cleveland craftsman and artist Eli Gfell, we wanted to make sure we were creating a place for community to gather but also a way to present art that is sensitive to the special aspects of our space. This table is an heirloom piece that will live with this house forever. Made from catalpa wood, the material was a specific choice to honor the region and the trees growing on the property. Its joinery was designed by Eli to easily break down into individual parts that can be easily moved and stored, giving the table enormous flexibility in movement and in use.
