Alberto Aguilar employs regulated gestures and a self-imposed framework as a way to generate an infinite body of work. This work can be made anywhere and with whatever material is at hand.
The entire exhibition at SHED was made one day before the opening on Saturday, July 1, 2023. The installation is in the former bedroom and bathroom of Elliot Banzhaf Davis with objects sourced on-site featuring collages by Jorge Lucero, Jon Gott, and Elliot. As a performance, Alberto made a 50-ingredient mole on-site only using ingredients found in SHED’s pantry - no ingredients were bought for this recipe.
